Ditch the Crowds and #OptOutside this Black Friday! 🥾🌲
Escape the chaos of holiday shopping and reconnect with the great outdoors instead. Join us on Black Friday for a revitalizing hike through Lake Houston Wilderness Park. It’s the perfect way to de-stress, recharge, and embrace the beauty of nature.
These trails are the real deal—think winding dirt paths, rolling hills, and dense woodlands. You’ll likely catch glimpses of wildlife along the way. No need to worry about being left behind we keep our group together by circling back at intersections to make sure everyone stays on course.
About the Hike: We’ll hike about 5-6 miles give or take. We’ll go the pace of the group but you should be able to hike about 25 mins miles. We will not hike faster than 20 min miles for this hike.
What to Bring: 1. Water: Stay hydrated! 2. Long Pants: For comfort and protection from brush. 3. Sunscreen & Bug Spray 4. Sturdy Shoes: Trails can be rugged and sandy. 5. Snacks & Lunch: Fuel up for the adventure.
Picnic in the Park 🧺 After our hike, stick around for a laid-back picnic. Bring your lunch, a comfy chair, and some extra layers in case the weather turns chilly.
Dog-Friendly 🐾 Four-legged friends are welcome if they’re well-behaved dog owners. Bring water and waste bags for your pups, and keep them on a leash. Please make sure your dog doesn’t approach other dogs or people.
Adults Only We are an adult only social group so please leave your kiddos at home.
Fees: 1. $3 per person park entrance fee (pay at the park). 2. Note: This is not a Texas State Park, so park passes do not apply.
How to Find Us: Go to the Nature Center Parking lot. Look for the HTXoutdoors and Bayou City Outdoors signs at the parking lot entrance. We’ll kick off our hike from there.
Parking Tips 🚗 There will be a line at entrance to pay your fee and the parking is about 10 minutes from the entrance. Plan to arrive at least 10 minutes earlier than your map’s arrival time to allow for check-in and parking.
Start Time ⏰ Arrive by 10:00 am the hike starts at 10:15 sharp. If you’re not ready by then, we’ll start without you! Once we’re on the trail, we’ll stick together, so no one gets left behind.
