Join members of the Berkeley Symphony on A Viennese Sojourn at the Freight! This chamber concert, curated by violinist Rene Mandel, invites listeners to spend an afternoon transported to eighteenth-century Vienna. The program, comprised of favorites from Mandel's childhood in his half-Austrian family, includes the charming and romantic Serenade by Ernst Von Dohnanyi, Maria Theresia von Paradis's sweet Sicilienne for cello accompanied by string quartet, and Franz Schubert's lush and lyrical String Quintet in C major. This program will be presented at Berkeley's legendary venue The Freight on Monday April 14.
