  The First Ladies' Walk for Life...Steps Against Breast Cancer kicks off Breast Cancer Awareness month. The three-mile walk downtown starts and ends at Finlay Park. The event promotes awareness of the benefit of early detection. The day allows people to remember those who lost their battle and to honor those who are beating breast cancer! The Walk benefits Palmetto Health South Carolina Comprehensive Breast Center in the areas of awareness and education, patient and family support and breast cancer research. All funds stay local. In 2003, the event netted more than $249,000 for the cause and hosted more than 9200 walkers. Team up with your friends and family.
