Set in thirteenth-century France, this play takes us to the abbey of Saint Foy, where all is not as it should be. It seems the holy Saint has been short on miracles for some years. And, with miracle-seeking money-bearing pilgrims long gone, the increasingly despairing monks, their faith slipping away, wonder how much longer they can hold out on prayer alone. But wait ... just when all seems darkest, a would-be savior appears at their doorstep with an ingenious plan to replenish their empty coffers ... and the rest, as they say, is medieval history!
