Deloris Guttman lives and work in the Hawaiian Islands since 1973. She is a genealogist and historian on African and African American cultural heritage. She founded the African American
Diversity Cultural Center Hawaii, a museum repository to archive 200 years of history and contributions of African Americans in Hawaii. Deloris has traveled to China, Europe, Africa and
Mexico conducting research.

A Sand Memorial to honor the first nominated African American President, Barack Obama and the struggles and pain of all people world-wide, in particularly, those of African ancestry is planned to be placed on the grounds of the African American Diversity Cultural Center Hawaii new preservation facility. You (school children, churches, chamber of commerce, sororities, fraternities, boy scouts, girl scouts, clubs,groups and individuals) are invited to send ONE GRAIN of sand from every country around the world.
