Info:
‘Tis the Season of Giving and local Girl Scout member, Erica Eaddy, wants to give the gift of life this holiday season by hosting a bone marrow drive for people of African descent on Saturday, December 18th, 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s AME church located at 1540 Pryor Rd. SW in Atlanta.
African-Americans are disproportionately behind other ethnicities in donating bone marrow which can help save the life of a brother or sister critically ill or suffering from blood diseases such as Sickle Cell.
The American Red Cross will be on hand to administer this simple blood test. Volunteer donors will then have their bone marrow typed and placed on the national bone marrow registry for a possible match.
For more information about how you can participate in this bone marrow drive and potentially give the gift of life to a brother or sister in need, please call 404-346-4785 to pre-register.
