African American Women Lawyers, Law School Graduates and Law Students: A Survey of Professional Development Needs & Strategies

SURVEY PURPOSE / TARGET AUDIENCE

A number of studies in recent years have determined that women of color face considerable barriers to advancement in the legal profession. To better understand the professional development needs of African American women in the profession, an online survey is being conducted with African American women lawyers, law school graduates and law students.

What You Can Do To Help

1.  If you are an African American woman in the legal profession, please take 5 to 10 minutes to complete this important survey by Friday, February 27, 2004. The results of the survey will be used to identify strategies that African American women can use to advance their legal careers. Individual responses to the survey will be kept strictly CONFIDENTIAL and results will be reported only in the aggregate.

2.  Please forward this email to your African American women friends and colleagues in the legal profession.
